Channel Update – What’s Next?

Hey everyone! Apologies for the lack of updates lately – things have been a bit crazy. I haven’t had much time drop new content on the blog, but I wanted to give you guys a status update about where the channel is headed over the next month.

Mini Vacation

I’ll be taking next week off to go visit home for a bit. I’ve got some work-related business to handle, and I want to visit my friends and family back in California. That means that next week, I won’t be streaming. I’ll still be pretty active on Discord, so you can hit me up any time! I’ll also be hosting some neat streamers for you to check out during my normal stream schedule. I’ll return to my normal stream schedule on July 30th – you can expect some nice updates to the stream at that time as well!

It’s been almost one full year since I’ve started my journey as a part-time streamer! I’m super excited with how much our community has grown since I first started. When I first got into streaming, I wanted to get more involved as a streamer and build a community around the games I love, and I’m very proud of what we’ve accomplished together. Thank you so much to all of you who have helped support the channel, the Discord, and all the random fun side projects I’ve gotten involved with over the year. I look forward to seeing where we are a year from now as well – there’s no telling what awesome heights we’ll reach together!

I plan on doing a special one year Googie celebration at some point in August. I’ll update you guys on that once I’ve set a date. We’ll do a 12 hour stream marathon, and maybe even a giveaway!

What are we playing next?

I’ve been experimenting over the past month with playing/streaming non-Splatoon content. I know I’ve been a bit inconsistent about what I play, but it gave me some time and insight into what you guys enjoy watching. Based on feedback from you guys, I plan to focus more on Nintendo first party titles from the past, present, and future. At the top of the list are Mario, Pokemon, and the Legend of Zelda. However, we’ll be stretching into some other core Nintendo Series as well, such as Fire Emblem, Kirby, Metroid, and Xenoblade. I want to take a more focused approach, and play through games one at a time, instead of jumping around between games. We’ll aim for one game per week, unless we need more time to beat a lengthy game. I hope you guys will enjoy this approach more, and hopefully it makes it easier to follow the story/progress through games! Fridays will be my “Viewer Games” days, where we play Splatoon and other viewer-joinable games.

What about VRChat stuff?

I’ve been having a BLAST with VRChat, but I’m not ready to stream it yet. VRChat is best played with friends, so I want to hold off on playing it on stream until I’m more involved within that community. As I get more involved with the VRChat community and make more friends, I’ll be considering streaming it in the evenings.

I’m still planning on actively developing maps for VRChat. I really want to bring a few Nintendo ideas to life, so a lot of my free time outside streaming will be dedicated to that. I have set up a Patreon page for those who want to support my VRChat creations. Supporters will get access to world testing sessions, as well as personalized Easter Eggs in the maps I create! Also, I’ll be using VRChat creation time as filler for days where I’m not up for playing games. If you catch me streaming while working in Unity, you can expect a more laid back stream with good music, artist talk, and (sometimes funny) Unity glitches.

Anything else?

That’s about it. As always, I want to say thank you to everyone who has joined our community over the past year. It really is awesome to have met all of you, and I really enjoy gaming and talking with you guys. If there’s anything you ever want to talk about – ideas for the stream, just want to talk about vidya, ask me for advice – my inbox is always open!
